AMR Technology Campus
About
The AMR Technology Campus adjacent to the Silverstone circuit represents the most ambitious infrastructure project in recent Formula One history. Funded by Lawrence Stroll, the Canadian billionaire who acquired the team in 2020 and rebranded it as Aston Martin, the new campus is a statement of intent that reflects Stroll's determination to transform a perennial midfield team into a World Championship contender. The investment, reported to exceed 200 million pounds, is creating a facility designed to rival or surpass the best in the sport.
The campus is being built in phases on land immediately adjacent to the Silverstone circuit, giving the team an enviable location in the heart of Motorsport Valley with direct access to one of the world's most famous racetracks. The design includes a new wind tunnel, state-of-the-art simulator, expanded manufacturing facilities, and modern office spaces designed to attract and retain the best engineering talent in Formula One. The project represents a comprehensive upgrade from the team's previous facilities at the same site, which had served the operation through its various incarnations as Jordan, Midland, Spyker, Force India, and Racing Point.
Lawrence Stroll's vision extends beyond merely building a competitive F1 team. The campus is designed to be the technological heart of the Aston Martin brand, with synergies between the racing and road car operations intended to elevate both. The recruitment of Adrian Newey from Red Bull Racing underscored the ambition: attracting the most successful designer in F1 history required offering not just a competitive salary but a world-class facility in which to work. The AMR Technology Campus is still being completed, but it already represents a transformation of the site from a scrappy underdog's base into a facility befitting a team with genuine championship aspirations.
