Atrium Health Ballpark opened in 2020 in downtown Kannapolis, North Carolina, providing the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers with a state-of-the-art facility that served as the centerpiece of one of the most transformative downtown redevelopment projects in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The rebranding from the Kannapolis Intimidators (named in honor of Dale Earnhardt, the NASCAR legend from Kannapolis) to the Cannon Ballers coincided with the new ballpark and created a fresh identity that energized the community. The ballpark has hosted young White Sox prospects taking their first steps in professional baseball.

Atrium Health Ballpark's impact on downtown Kannapolis has been dramatic. The surrounding blocks have attracted restaurants, breweries, and mixed-use development that has transformed the city center from a collection of vacant storefronts into a vibrant destination.
