Biloxi Shuckers
Rising from the Gulf Coast with a name that celebrates the region's seafood heritage, the Biloxi Shuckers have built one of the Southern League's most consistently competitive franchises since their 2015 debut—a Brewers development hub where the salt air carries the promise of future stars.
The Biloxi Shuckers are the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, playing in the Southern League at Keesler Federal Park (originally MGM Park) in Biloxi, Mississippi. The franchise relocated from Huntsville, Alabama, after the 2014 season when the former Huntsville Stars could not secure a replacement for their aging ballpark. Biloxi welcomed the team with a brand-new Gulf Coast stadium and a name that pays homage to the Mississippi coast's rich seafood tradition.
Keesler Federal Park sits just blocks from the beach on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, giving the Shuckers one of the most unique settings in minor league baseball. The 6,067-seat ballpark opened during the 2015 season and quickly became a community hub, drawing fans from across the Gulf Coast region for affordable family entertainment and a chance to see the Brewers' best prospects up close.
The Shuckers have been remarkably competitive since their arrival. They posted a league-best 78-59 record in their inaugural 2015 season and have been among the Southern League's top teams in most years since. The 2018 and 2019 squads were particularly dominant, going 81-59 and 82-57 respectively. While a Southern League championship has remained elusive despite multiple championship series appearances, the Shuckers have established themselves as a perennial contender.
Manager Mike Guerrero has been the defining figure of Shuckers baseball, managing the team for the majority of its existence and returning for the 2026 season. Under his leadership and the guidance of the Brewers' player development system, Biloxi has produced major leaguers including Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, and Willy Adames, making the Gulf Coast a proven pipeline to the big leagues.
