Chesapeake Baysox

Freshly rebranded from the Bowie Baysox to embrace the broader Chesapeake Bay region, the Chesapeake Baysox have been the Orioles' Double-A home since 1993—a franchise that has funneled three decades of Baltimore talent from suburban Maryland to Camden Yards.

The Chesapeake Baysox are the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, playing in the Eastern League at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie, Maryland. Originally known as the Bowie Baysox since their founding in 1993, the franchise rebranded as the Chesapeake Baysox ahead of the 2025 season to better represent the broader regional fanbase that extends across the Chesapeake Bay area.

Prince George's Stadium, a 10,000-seat facility located between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, has served as the team's home since 1994. The ballpark's proximity to the nation's capital and the Orioles' home at Camden Yards makes it one of the most accessible minor league venues in the country. For over three decades, the stadium has been where Orioles fans can get a first look at the prospects who will soon be starring in Baltimore.

The franchise has been an Orioles affiliate for its entire existence, making it one of the longest continuous affiliations in the Eastern League. The pipeline from Bowie to Baltimore has produced a remarkable roster of major league talent, including Manny Machado, Jonathan Schoop, Dylan Bundy, and more recently the wave of young stars who powered the Orioles' resurgence in the 2020s. The 2015 team won the Eastern League championship, and the 2021 squad went 73-47 during a period when Baltimore's farm system was among the best in baseball.

Under the ownership of Attain Sports and Entertainment, led by Greg Baroni, the franchise has embraced its new Chesapeake identity while maintaining the community connections built over three decades in Bowie. Manager Roberto Mercado returns for his third season in 2026, continuing to develop the next generation of Orioles.
