Frisco RoughRiders

The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, playing in the Texas League at Riders Field in Frisco, Texas. The franchise relocated from Shreveport, Louisiana, in 2003 and has been affiliated with the Rangers since inception, providing a crucial development stop for Texas's top prospects just 30 miles north of the parent club's home in Arlington.

Riders Field has become one of the most fan-friendly venues in minor league baseball, particularly under the ownership of Chuck Greenberg and Scott Sonju, who purchased the team in 2014 and invested heavily in ballpark upgrades. The centerpiece is a 174-foot lazy river beyond the right-field wall, the largest known water feature at a professional sports venue, which opened in 2016 and turned Riders Field into a destination experience.

On the field, the RoughRiders have served as the proving ground for Rangers stars including Nolan Arenado, Joey Gallo, and a host of other major leaguers. After a stretch of losing seasons from 2015 through 2019 under manager Joe Mikulik, the franchise turned a corner under Jared Goedert, who led the 2022 team to a Texas League championship—the franchise's first title since 2004. Carlos Cardoza took over as manager in 2023 and guided the 2024 squad to an 84-54 record, the best in franchise history.

Under manager Chad Comer for 2026, the RoughRiders continue to blend elite player development with one of minor league baseball's most creative and entertaining fan experiences in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
