Harrisburg Senators

Playing on the picturesque City Island in the Susquehanna River in the heart of Pennsylvania's capital, the Harrisburg Senators have been the Washington Nationals' Double-A affiliate since 2005, serving as a key development stop where future stars prepare for the jump to the big leagues.

The Harrisburg Senators are the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, playing in the Eastern League at FNB Field on City Island in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The modern franchise began play in 1987, and the team has been affiliated with the Nationals (and their predecessor, the Montreal Expos) since 1991, making it one of the longest-running affiliations in minor league baseball.

FNB Field's location on City Island, a 63-acre island in the Susquehanna River connected to downtown Harrisburg by a walking bridge, gives the Senators one of the most unique settings in all of minor league baseball. The ballpark has been a community gathering place for nearly four decades, offering views of the state capitol dome and the surrounding riverbanks.

The Senators have developed a long line of major league talent, from Vladimir Guerrero and Bryce Harper to Juan Soto and countless other Expos and Nationals stars. The franchise has won multiple Eastern League championships and consistently served as one of the most important development stops in the Washington pipeline. After years of ownership under the late Mark Butler, the team transitioned to Diamond Baseball Holdings in April 2024.

Under manager Delino DeShields, who returns for his fourth season in 2026, the Senators continue to develop Nationals prospects while providing affordable family entertainment in Pennsylvania's capital city. The franchise's deep roots in the community and its storied development history make it one of the most respected franchises in the Eastern League.
