New Hampshire Fisher Cats
The only affiliated minor league team in New Hampshire, the Fisher Cats have served as the Toronto Blue Jays' Double-A pipeline since arriving in Manchester in 2004, developing a remarkable roster of future stars while building one of the Eastern League's most loyal fanbases.
2004–2010
A Championship Arrival
From New Haven to New Hampshire
The Fisher Cats franchise originated as the New Haven Ravens, an Eastern League team that had played in Connecticut since 1994. Owner Drew Weber purchased the franchise and relocated it to Manchester, New Hampshire, for the 2004 season, bringing affiliated baseball to the state for the first time. The team played its inaugural year at Gill Stadium, a classic multi-use facility, while a new purpose-built ballpark was constructed nearby.
The arrival was nothing short of spectacular. The 2004 Fisher Cats won the Eastern League championship in their very first season, claiming the title with an 84-57 record. The following year, the team moved into its new home—Fisher Cats Ballpark (later renamed through sponsorship deals, eventually becoming Delta Dental Stadium). The 6,500-seat facility in downtown Manchester gave the franchise a permanent anchor.
Art Solomon acquired a controlling interest in the team in 2005 and became sole owner by 2008. While the on-field results dipped in the mid-2000s as the team settled into its new home, the Fisher Cats built a loyal fanbase drawn to the intimate ballpark experience and the steady stream of Blue Jays prospects passing through.

The 2011 squad captured the franchise's second league title, cementing New Hampshire as a destination franchise in the Eastern League.
The Blue Jays' farm system began producing elite talent at a remarkable clip, and much of it passed through Manchester. Marcus Stroman dominated on the mound before becoming an All-Star. Aaron Sanchez, Roberto Osuna, and Devon Travis all made meaningful stops in New Hampshire on their way to the majors.
The crowning achievement of this era came in 2018, when the Fisher Cats won their third Eastern League championship. That team featured several players who would soon become the core of Toronto's next contending window, including Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio. New Ownership, New Era
Transition and the next chapter
After the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19 and the subsequent reorganization of minor league baseball, the Fisher Cats returned to play in 2021 as part of the restructured Double-A Northeast (later reverting to the Eastern League name). The team continued to serve as a critical waypoint for Blue Jays prospects, with players like Nate Pearson, Gabriel Moreno, and Orelvis Martinez passing through Manchester.
In December 2023, Art Solomon sold the franchise to Diamond Baseball Holdings, ending nearly two decades of local ownership. DBH, backed by private equity firm Silver Lake, retained the existing front office leadership and committed to maintaining the team's community presence. The transition was smooth, with the Fisher Cats continuing normal operations under the new ownership structure.
The 2026 season brings a fresh start on the field as well, with John Tamargo Jr. taking over as manager after leading the FCL Blue Jays to their first Florida Complex League title in 2025. Delta Dental Stadium continues to serve as the heart of Manchester's entertainment district, drawing fans from across New Hampshire and northern New England.
