Barnsley Football Club
A proud South Yorkshire club whose 1912 FA Cup triumph remains the defining moment in a history shaped by resilience, working-class identity, and the stubborn refusal to accept that a small town cannot compete on the biggest stages.
Current Leadership
Chairman & Majority Shareholder
Neerav Parekh became majority shareholder and chairman of Barnsley following a boardroom restructure in 2022 that removed the controversial Pacific Media Group consortium. Parekh's family controls Pidilite Industries, one of India's largest adhesive and chemical companies. He has overseen a period of stabilisation at Oakwell after years of ownership turbulence.
Minority Shareholders
The Cryne family have been involved with Barnsley since Patrick Cryne acquired the club in 2003. Patrick served as chairman until selling to a consortium in 2017, but the family retained a stake. Jean Cryne returned to the board during the 2022 restructure, ensuring continuity with the club's recent history.
