Football Ventures completed a rescue takeover of Bolton Wanderers in August 2019, saving the club from liquidation after it had entered administration with debts exceeding £40 million. The group is led by chairman Sharon Brittan alongside co-directors Nick Luckock and Michael James. Football Ventures have invested heavily in stabilising the club's finances and rebuilding the squad, with Bolton becoming a consistent League One promotion contender since their return from League Two.

Sharon Brittan has served as chairman of Bolton Wanderers since the Football Ventures takeover in 2019. She has overseen the club's recovery from the brink of extinction, navigating the challenges of administration, a relegation to League Two, and the subsequent rebuild. Under her leadership, Bolton returned to League One at the first attempt and have since mounted multiple promotion challenges.
