Nordic Football Group acquired Ben Robinson's majority stake in Burton Albion in June 2024, bringing Scandinavian investment and ownership models to the club. NFG is led by founder and CEO Tom Davidson, who serves as deputy chairman, while Ole Jakob Strandhagen was appointed chairman. Robinson retained an honorary chairmanship and advisory role.

Ben Robinson first became chairman of Burton Albion in 1976 and returned in 1995, eventually owning 98% of the club. Under his stewardship, Burton rose from non-league obscurity to the Championship. He sold his majority stake to Nordic Football Group in 2024 but remains as honorary chairman in an advisory capacity. Robinson was awarded an MBE for services to football in 2019.
