American-based British businessman Simon Hallett became majority shareholder of Plymouth Argyle in 2018 after initially investing in 2016. A Plymouth native and lifelong Argyle fan, Hallett has overseen the club's rise from League Two to the Championship and the redevelopment of Home Park, investing significant personal funds while maintaining a commitment to sustainable growth.

Former Chairman
Local businessman James Brent rescued Plymouth Argyle from administration in 2011, preventing the club from going out of existence. He stabilised the finances and laid the groundwork for recovery before handing control to Simon Hallett. Brent is widely credited with saving the club at its most vulnerable moment.
