Current Leadership

Dai Yongge

Owner

2017–present

Chinese businessman Dai Yongge acquired a controlling stake in Reading in 2017 through his company Renhe Sports Management. His tenure has been marred by chronic financial mismanagement, EFL points deductions for breaching profit and sustainability regulations, and the club's relegation from the Championship to League One. Supporter protests demanding his departure have been a regular feature of matchdays, and the club's future ownership situation remains a source of deep concern for the fanbase.

Sir John Madejski

Former Chairman & Owner

1990–2012

Sir John Madejski transformed Reading from a lower-league club into a Premier League outfit. His investment funded the construction of the Madejski Stadium in 1998 and supported the squad-building that led to the record-breaking 106-point Championship title in 2006. Madejski sold his majority stake in 2012 but remained as a figurehead before the club's subsequent ownership changes.
