Owner & Chairman
Arthur Blank, co-founder of The Home Depot, was awarded the MLS expansion franchise in 2014 and launched Atlanta United FC in 2017. Under his ownership the club shattered MLS attendance records, won the 2018 MLS Cup in just its second season, and opened the state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Blank also owns the NFL's Atlanta Falcons.

Before Arthur Blank secured the franchise, several Atlanta-based investor groups competed for an MLS expansion slot. Blank's bid won out in 2014, building on the momentum of strong soccer interest in the Atlanta metro area and the planned construction of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
