Current Leadership
Chairman & Principal Owner
Real estate and sports mogul Jerry Reinsdorf purchased the Bulls in 1985 for $16 million and has presided over the franchise for four decades, including the six championship runs with Michael Jordan in the 1990s. While revered for assembling the greatest dynasty in NBA history, Reinsdorf has drawn criticism in recent years for a reluctance to spend aggressively and for the team's extended playoff drought. He also owns the Chicago White Sox.
President & COO
Michael Reinsdorf, Jerry's son, has served as the team's president and chief operating officer, gradually taking on a larger role in franchise operations. He is widely expected to succeed his father as the controlling figure of the Bulls organization and has been involved in modernizing the team's business operations and fan experience at the United Center.

Historical Figures
Managing Partner
Jonathan Kovler served as the Bulls' managing partner during a turbulent era for the franchise. The team struggled on the court and at the box office despite drafting players like Artis Gilmore. Kovler's group ultimately sold the team to Jerry Reinsdorf's consortium in 1985.
Founding Owner
Arthur Wirtz, the Chicago sports and real estate magnate who also owned the Blackhawks and the Chicago Stadium, was a founding owner of the Bulls when the franchise entered the NBA as an expansion team in 1966. He sold his stake in the early 1970s to focus on his hockey and arena interests.
