Jerry Richardson, a former Baltimore Colts wide receiver, was the driving force behind bringing an NFL franchise to the Carolinas. He founded the Panthers in 1993 and oversaw the franchise for 25 years, including two Super Bowl appearances. He was forced to sell the team in 2018 amid allegations of workplace misconduct.
