Ed Snider

Founder & Former Chairman

1967–2016

Ed Snider founded the Philadelphia Flyers as an expansion franchise in 1967 and built them into one of the NHL's most iconic organizations. His Flyers won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1974 and 1975 as the legendary 'Broad Street Bullies' and became a pillar of Philadelphia sports culture. Snider merged his company with Comcast in 1996 but remained chairman until his death in 2016. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder in 1988.
