Lauren Leichtman, co-founder of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, became the majority owner of San Diego Wave FC through the Levine Leichtman Family Office, which acquired the club from Ron Burkle at a record-breaking $113 million valuation. Leichtman serves as the club's NWSL Governor.

Founding Owner
Billionaire investor Ron Burkle founded San Diego Wave FC in 2021 and built the club into one of the NWSL's most popular franchises, setting league attendance records at Snapdragon Stadium. He sold the club to the Levine Leichtman Family Office in 2024.
