Co-Controlling Owner & Chairman
American businessman Todd Boehly led the consortium that purchased Chelsea in May 2022 for 4.25 billion pounds. Through his Eldridge Industries holding company, Boehly serves as co-controlling owner alongside Clearlake Capital. He initially served as interim sporting director before establishing a more traditional football operations structure. His tenure has been defined by record transfer spending and rapid managerial turnover.

American private equity firm Clearlake Capital holds the majority financial stake in the Chelsea ownership consortium. Co-founders Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano are actively involved in the club's governance. Historical Figures
Owner
Russian-Israeli billionaire Roman Abramovich purchased Chelsea in June 2003 and transformed the club into a European superpower. His investment funded five Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, five FA Cups, and numerous other honours. Abramovich was forced to sell the club in 2022 after the UK government imposed sanctions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The proceeds of the sale were directed to charitable causes.
Chairman & Owner
Ken Bates purchased Chelsea for one pound in 1982 when the club was on the brink of bankruptcy. Over 21 years he oversaw the modernisation of Stamford Bridge, the arrival of continental talent like Ruud Gullit and Gianfranco Zola, and Chelsea's re-emergence as a competitive force. He sold the club to Roman Abramovich in 2003.
