Wolverhampton Wanderers FC

The old gold and black of Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of English football's most historically significant colours, worn by a club that helped pioneer European competition and have been revitalised in the Premier League era by Chinese investment and a strong Portuguese influence.

2016–present

Chinese conglomerate Fosun International, led by chairman Guo Guangchang, purchased Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2016. Their investment, combined with the close relationship between the club and super-agent Jorge Mendes, facilitated the Championship title in 2018 and three consecutive top-half Premier League finishes. Fosun's Portuguese-centric recruitment model has given Wolves a distinctive identity, though the club have faced challenges sustaining competitiveness as transfer spending has been curtailed.

Steve Morgan

Owner & Chairman

2007–2016

British businessman Steve Morgan purchased Wolves from the Hayward family in 2007. Under his ownership, Wolves won promotion to the Premier League in 2009 but were relegated in 2012 and remained in the Championship until the sale to Fosun in 2016. Morgan's tenure provided stability but lacked the investment needed to establish the club in the top flight.
