Fort Myers Mighty Mussels

Formerly the Fort Myers Miracle, the Mighty Mussels share Hammond Stadium with the Minnesota Twins' spring training operations — creating a year-round pipeline of Twins prospects in Southwest Florida that stretches back more than three decades.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are the Single-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, playing in the Florida State League at Hammond Stadium within the Lee County Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Florida. The franchise arrived in Fort Myers in 1992 — originally as the Fort Myers Miracle — after relocating from Miami, where it had operated under various names since the early 1960s.

The Miracle name served the franchise well for nearly three decades, but ahead of the 2020 season, the team rebranded as the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels. The quirky, locally inspired name quickly became a fan favorite and one of the most recognizable brands in minor league baseball. The Mussels have been affiliated with the Minnesota Twins since 1993, making it one of the longest-running partnerships in the Florida State League.

Hammond Stadium, which opened in 1991 and seats approximately 9,300 fans, also serves as the Twins' spring training home. The shared facility provides Mighty Mussels prospects with access to major-league-caliber infrastructure and a seamless connection to the parent club's player development staff. Notable alumni from the Fort Myers days include Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, and Byron Buxton.

Ownership changed in January 2022 when Kaufy Baseball, LLC, managed by John Martin, purchased a controlling interest from Andrew Kaufmann's Zawyer Sports & Entertainment. The Mighty Mussels continue to serve as a vital first stop in the Twins' development pipeline while providing Southwest Florida with affordable family entertainment.
