Al Hilal SFC
The most decorated club in Asian football history, Al Hilal have turned Saudi Arabia's capital into a global footballing destination with 21 league titles and a relentless appetite for continental glory.
Al Hilal SFC are the undisputed giants of Saudi Arabian football. Founded in 1957 in Riyadh — originally under the name "Olympic" before a royal decree from King Saud renamed them Al Hilal in 1958 — the club has amassed a record 21 Saudi Pro League titles, four AFC Champions League trophies, and over 65 official honors in total. No other club in the kingdom comes close.
The modern era has only amplified the legend. Between 2016 and 2024, Al Hilal won six league championships, including a stretch of three consecutive titles from 2019-20 to 2021-22. The 2023-24 campaign was historic: with Neymar, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic on the books, the club set a world record of 34 consecutive victories across all competitions while storming to another league crown under Jorge Jesus.
Continentally, Al Hilal's four AFC Champions League titles (1991, 2000, 2019, 2021) make them the most successful club in the competition's history. The 2019 triumph under Razvan Lucescu — a treble-winning season that also included the league and King's Cup — cemented the club's status as Asia's preeminent force.
Off the pitch, the club entered a transformative new chapter in 2023 when the Saudi Public Investment Fund acquired a 75% stake, fueling blockbuster signings and the opening of the state-of-the-art Kingdom Arena in Riyadh's Hittin district. By late 2025, Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was negotiating a landmark deal to acquire PIF's stake, signaling yet another evolution in the club's ownership story.
Now managed by Simone Inzaghi, who arrived from Inter Milan in June 2025, Al Hilal continue to set the standard for ambition in the Saudi Pro League and across Asian football.
