Memphis Redbirds

The Memphis Redbirds are the St. Louis Cardinals' Triple-A affiliate, a partnership that dates to the franchise's inaugural 1998 season. The relationship between Memphis and St. Louis is one of the most productive in minor league baseball, having produced an extraordinary stream of Cardinals stars including Albert Pujols, Yadier Molina, Matt Carpenter, and Harrison Bader.

AutoZone Park, which opened in 2000 in the heart of downtown Memphis, is consistently ranked among the finest ballparks in all of minor league baseball. The 10,000-seat facility anchors a revitalized area near the famous Beale Street entertainment district and has been a catalyst for urban renewal in the Bluff City. The ballpark's design blends modern amenities with a classic aesthetic befitting the Cardinals' tradition.

Manager Ben Johnson returns for a record seventh season in 2026, the longest managerial tenure in franchise history. Johnson's coaching staff includes co-pitching coaches Darwin Marrero and Ollie Kadey, hitting coach Howie Clark, and bench coach Peter Mooney.

Principal owner Peter B. Freund acquired a majority interest from the Cardinals in 2016, with St. Louis retaining a minority stake — a structure that ensures continued organizational alignment between the parent club and its top affiliate. Freund, who also owns the Williamsport Crosscutters and co-owns the Charleston RiverDogs, has maintained the high operational standards that have made AutoZone Park a destination venue.
