Oklahoma City Comets
Freshly rebranded as the Comets in 2025 in honor of Mickey Mantle's 'Commerce Comet' nickname, the Los Angeles Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate plays at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark and serves as the final development stop for one of baseball's deepest organizations.
The Oklahoma City Comets are the Los Angeles Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate, playing at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in the heart of Oklahoma City's revitalized Bricktown entertainment district. The franchise rebranded as the Comets in 2025, honoring both Mickey Mantle's "Commerce Comet" nickname — a nod to the legendary Oklahoman — and the city's deep ties to the aerospace industry.
The franchise has a long history in Oklahoma City, stretching back to the 89ers era in 1962 and later the RedHawks (1998-2014) before becoming the Dodgers affiliate. The team played under the temporary name "Oklahoma City Baseball Club" during the 2024 season while the Comets rebrand was in development. The Dodgers affiliation, secured through at least the 2030 season, has made Oklahoma City the final proving ground for one of baseball's richest talent pools.
Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, which opened in 1998, has been a cornerstone of the Bricktown district's transformation from a neglected warehouse area into one of the city's premier destinations for dining, entertainment, and nightlife. The 13,066-seat ballpark underwent significant renovations as part of the Comets rebrand, including new scoreboard technology and upgraded fan amenities.
Manager Scott Hennessey returns for his second season in 2026, leading a coaching staff that includes hitting coach Dylan Nasiatka, pitching coaches Ryan Dennick and David Anderson, and bench coach Joe Thon. The franchise is currently owned by Diamond Baseball Holdings.
