The Minnesota Twins' Triple-A affiliate since 2021, the St. Paul Saints play at CHS Field in downtown St. Paul, blending a legendary independent-league heritage of creative promotions with top-tier player development just minutes from Target Field.
The St. Paul Saints are the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, playing at CHS Field in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. One of the most unique stories in professional baseball, the Saints spent nearly three decades as an independent-league powerhouse before joining organized baseball in 2021 as part of MLB's minor league reorganization.
Founded in 1993 by Mike Veeck, Marv Goldklang, and Bill Murray, the Saints became famous for irreverent promotions, creative fan engagement, and a joyful approach to baseball that drew national media attention. Playing first at Midway Stadium and then at the purpose-built CHS Field (opened 2015), the Saints regularly led independent leagues in attendance and became a cultural institution in the Twin Cities.
The franchise's transition to affiliated baseball brought a new dimension: serving as the final developmental stop for Twins prospects. CHS Field, a 7,210-seat gem in the Lowertown neighborhood, provides an intimate setting just across the Mississippi River from the Twins' Target Field. The proximity — roughly 10 minutes by car — makes call-ups and rehab assignments seamless.
New manager Brian Dinkelman takes the helm in 2026, bringing a career .560 winning percentage and 443 victories as a minor league skipper. A former Twins draft pick himself, Dinkelman represents the next chapter for a franchise that has always prized personality alongside performance. The Saints were sold to Diamond Baseball Holdings in 2023 but continue to carry forward the spirit of fun and community engagement that made them a national treasure.
