The Worcester Red Sox, affectionately known as the WooSox, are the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, playing at Polar Park in Worcester, Massachusetts. The franchise relocated from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, in 2021 after 50 years as the Pawtucket Red Sox, bringing Triple-A baseball to New England's second-largest city.

Polar Park, a 9,508-seat ballpark in Worcester's revitalized Canal District, opened in 2021 and quickly became one of the most praised new facilities in minor league baseball. The stadium was the centerpiece of a broader redevelopment effort in the Canal District, featuring a design that blends modern amenities with industrial architecture that nods to Worcester's manufacturing heritage. The ballpark's DCU rooftop deck and views of Union Station make it a distinctive destination.

The WooSox nickname was chosen by fan vote and became an instant hit, generating strong merchandise sales and a lively brand identity. The franchise has served as the final developmental stop for numerous Red Sox prospects, including Triston Casas, Jarren Duran, and Bobby Dalbec, all of whom played at Polar Park before contributing at Fenway.

Manager Chad Tracy enters his fifth season in 2026 with a 309-285 career record in Worcester, having surpassed 300 wins on August 31, 2025. The franchise was sold to Diamond Baseball Holdings in 2023, though local investors including Polar Beverages CEO Ralph Crowley Jr. remain part of the ownership group, ensuring continued community ties.
