The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has owned the Sun since 2003, becoming the first Native American tribe to own a professional sports franchise. The team plays at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. As of 2025, the tribe retained Allen & Company to explore a potential sale, with multiple bidders including groups from Boston, Hartford, and Houston expressing interest, though the team will remain in Connecticut through at least the 2026 season.
