Managing Owner & Governor
Mat Ishbia, chairman and CEO of United Wholesale Mortgage, acquired the Phoenix Mercury alongside the NBA's Phoenix Suns in a $4 billion transaction approved in February 2023. Under his ownership, the Mercury built a dedicated practice facility and rose from the league's worst record in 2023 to a 27-17 finish and a WNBA Finals appearance in 2025.

Justin Ishbia, managing partner of Shore Capital Partners, is co-owner of the Phoenix Mercury and Suns alongside his brother Mat. He provides strategic business support to the franchise's operations and growth initiatives.
