Owner (Monumental Sports & Entertainment)
Ted Leonsis, founder and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, purchased the Mystics for $10 million in 2005. His portfolio includes the NBA's Washington Wizards and NHL's Washington Capitals. Under his ownership, the Mystics won the 2019 WNBA championship behind league MVP Elena Delle Donne.
Managing Partner
Sheila C. Johnson, co-founder of BET and CEO of Salamander Hotels & Resorts, serves as managing partner of the Mystics. She was the first African American woman to hold an ownership stake in three professional sports franchises and has been a champion for diversity and community engagement throughout her tenure.
