Current Leadership

Dick Monfort

Owner & CEO

2005–present

Dick Monfort assumed control of the Colorado Rockies in 2005 after the passing of his brother-in-law Jerry McMorris, becoming the team's managing general partner. Monfort, whose family fortune comes from the Monfort meatpacking business (later sold to ConAgra), has overseen both the team's magical 2007 World Series run and prolonged periods of losing. He has been a controversial figure among fans due to the team's struggles to attract top free agents and consistently compete in the NL West.

Charlie Monfort

Co-Owner & Vice Chairman

1992–present

Charlie Monfort, Dick's brother, has been part of the Rockies ownership group since the franchise's early years. While Dick handles the primary decision-making as CEO, Charlie has maintained an ownership stake and involvement in the franchise throughout its history. The Monfort brothers have been committed to keeping the team in Denver long-term.
