DePodesta Takes the Reins
After narrowly avoiding the record for most losses in a season, the Rockies hired Paul DePodesta to modernize the front office. It will take time for his analytical overhaul to bear fruit, but for the first time in years, there's at least a coherent vision for how to build a winner at altitude.
Ezequiel Tovar Is the Foundation
The 24-year-old shortstop is the one piece in Colorado that rival teams genuinely covet. Tovar's defense is already elite, and if his bat continues to develop, he's the kind of franchise cornerstone you build a real contender around, assuming the Rockies don't trade him first.
Another Long Season Ahead
