Half-Measures in Minnesota

The Twins' offseason was a study in contradiction: they signed decline-phase Josh Bell but refused to trade Pablo Lopez or Joe Ryan to kickstart a rebuild. Minnesota seems stuck between contending and tearing down, and the result is a roster that might not do either particularly well.

Caratini Adds Catching Depth

Victor Caratini signed a two-year deal to bolster the backstop position, but his addition is more about stability than impact. The Twins need big seasons from their young position players to make the Caratini signing look like the complementary move it was designed to be.

Carlos Correa Needs a Bounce-Back

The Twins' massive investment in Carlos Correa has not produced the results Minnesota envisioned. A healthy, productive Correa changes the Twins' trajectory entirely, but the question of whether he can stay on the field for 150-plus games remains unanswered.
