Sebastian Driussi's return to form is everything

After a 2025 campaign that never quite matched his spectacular 2022-23 peak, Sebastian Driussi enters 2026 with something to prove. Austin FC's entire offensive architecture still runs through the Argentine, and his preseason form has been encouraging. If Driussi rediscovers his MVP-caliber output, Austin has the supporting cast to make a deep playoff run.

Q2 Stadium aims to be a fortress again

Austin FC were nearly unbeatable at home in their first two seasons but saw that dominance slip over the past two years. Head coach Josh Wolff has made home form a stated priority, tweaking the pressing scheme to take better advantage of the Texas heat and the raucous Q2 Stadium atmosphere. The early-season home slate will reveal whether the fortress is back.

Young core gets their chance

Austin's homegrown pipeline is beginning to produce real contributors. Several academy graduates earned first-team minutes in preseason and are pushing for regular roles in 2026. The club views development as central to long-term sustainability in a market still growing its soccer culture.
