Columbus Crew
The original MLS club - the franchise that built the league's first soccer-specific stadium, survived a relocation scare through sheer fan willpower, and then won back-to-back MLS Cups to prove that the heartland of Ohio is as much sacred soccer ground as anywhere on the continent.

Owners
The Haslam and Edwards families, led by Jimmy and Dee Haslam along with the Edwards family, purchased the Columbus Crew in 2019 as part of the Save The Crew movement. Jimmy Haslam also owns the NFL's Cleveland Browns. Under their ownership the Crew opened Lower.com Field in 2021 and won the 2023 MLS Cup and the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Historical Figures
Former Owner
Anthony Precourt's Precourt Sports Ventures purchased the Crew in 2013 and controversially attempted to relocate the team to Austin, Texas. The resulting Save The Crew movement galvanized fans and civic leaders, ultimately leading to new local ownership and a separate Austin expansion franchise for Precourt.
