Current Leadership

Jody Allen

Chair & Owner (Paul G. Allen Trust)

2018–present

Jody Allen, the sister of late Seahawks owner Paul Allen, serves as the trustee and chair of the Paul G. Allen Trust, which owns the Seattle Seahawks. After Paul Allen's death in October 2018, Jody assumed control of the franchise and has maintained the organizational stability and competitive ambition that defined her brother's ownership. There has been speculation about a potential sale of the team, but as of 2025, the franchise remains under the Allen Trust's stewardship.

Historical Figures

Paul Allen

Owner & Chairman

1997–2018

Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, purchased the Seattle Seahawks in 1997 for $194 million, saving the franchise from relocation to Los Angeles. Allen financed the construction of what is now Lumen Field, hired Pete Carroll and John Schneider, and oversaw the most successful era in franchise history — including the Super Bowl XLVIII championship in 2014. Allen was a beloved and visionary owner who invested heavily in both the team and the city of Seattle. He passed away on October 15, 2018, at the age of 65, from complications of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Ken Behring

Owner

1988–1997

Ken Behring, a California real estate developer, purchased the Seahawks in 1988. His tenure was marked by declining performance on the field and a bitter stadium dispute that culminated in his attempt to relocate the franchise to Los Angeles in 1996. Behring physically moved the team's equipment to Southern California before the NFL forced him to return to Seattle. He sold the team to Paul Allen in 1997.

Nordstrom Family

Original Ownership Group

1976–1988

The Nordstrom family, the Seattle-based retail dynasty, was part of the original ownership group that brought the Seahawks to Seattle as an expansion franchise in 1976. Lloyd Nordstrom led the group until his death in 1979, after which the family eventually sold its controlling interest to Ken Behring in 1988. The Nordstrom family's involvement established the Seahawks as a community institution in the Pacific Northwest.
