Ottawa has posted a 7-1-2 record in their last ten games and is much closer to the playoff line than anyone expected. Tim Stutzle continues to be the engine of the offense, and the Senators are proving that last year's playoff appearance was no fluke.
After years of bottoming out and stockpiling draft picks, the Senators are a competitive hockey team. They made the playoffs last spring and are fighting to get back this year. The trajectory in Ottawa is undeniably upward, and the fanbase finally has reason for sustained optimism.
