Owner & Governor
Jeff Vinik, a billionaire investor and former Fidelity Magellan Fund manager, purchased the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2010 for approximately $170 million. He has been widely hailed as one of the best owners in professional sports, investing billions in the Water Street Tampa development that has transformed the downtown area surrounding Amalie Arena. Under his ownership the Lightning won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021 and reached the Final again in 2022.
