Tampa Bay has gone 3-7-0 in their last ten games, and the Lightning are in danger of falling out of the Atlantic Division playoff picture. For a franchise that made three straight Stanley Cup Finals from 2020 to 2022, this kind of late-season fade is unfamiliar and alarming.
The Lightning acquired Corey Perry from the Kings at the deadline, but adding a 40-year-old depth forward isn't going to fix what ails this team. Tampa's core of Kucherov, Point, and Hedman remains elite, but the supporting cast has not kept pace.
