The Patient Years
Six decades of building in the lower tiers of Saudi football.
For 64 years, Al-Fayha competed in the lower divisions of Saudi football, far from the spotlight of the top flight. Founded in 1953 in Al Majma'ah, a city in the Sudair region north of Riyadh, the club served as the primary sporting institution for a close-knit community. Through decades of modest budgets and limited infrastructure, Al-Fayha developed a culture of resilience and organization that would prove invaluable when they finally reached the top flight. The club's long years in the lower divisions were not wasted — they built the administrative and footballing foundations that would sustain a competitive Saudi Pro League presence. On April 29, 2017, Al-Fayha won promotion to the Pro League for the first time, capping a 2-1 home win against Ohod that sent the city into celebration.

Top-Flight Tenacity
Defensive organization and smart coaching sustain an unlikely SPL presence.
Since their 2017 promotion, Al-Fayha have proven they belong in the Saudi Pro League. The club's defensive philosophy — best illustrated by their league-best defensive record in the 2021-22 season — has made them a nightmare for attacking-minded opponents. A succession of tactically astute coaches has maximized the squad's capabilities, and the club's recruitment has been focused on finding undervalued players who fit the system. Portuguese manager Pedro Emanuel, appointed in December 2024, brings extensive Saudi Pro League experience from stints at Al Taawoun, Al Nassr, and Al Khaleej. Al-Fayha's survival in an era of PIF-backed superclubs and record-breaking transfer spending is one of the Saudi Pro League's most impressive ongoing stories.
