Al-Okhdood Club

Representing the southern city of Najran near the Yemeni border, Al-Okhdood bring geographic diversity and underdog spirit to the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Okhdood Club hail from Najran, a city in the far south of Saudi Arabia near the Yemeni border. Founded in 1976, the club are named after the nearby Al-Okhdood archaeological site, one of Saudi Arabia's most significant historical locations. Their light blue and white colors are distinctive in the Saudi Pro League palette.

The club's journey to the top flight was long and winding. For decades, Al-Okhdood competed in regional leagues and lower divisions. Under manager Luis Antonio Zaluar, the club achieved a dominant 2020-21 season, topping their group and defeating Al-Orobah in the promotion playoff final to return to the First Division after nearly three decades. Further promotions followed, bringing them to the Saudi Pro League.

Under Portuguese manager Paulo Sérgio for the 2025-26 season, Al-Okhdood represent one of the most geographically remote clubs in the league. Najran's distance from the traditional footballing centers of Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Eastern Province gives the club a unique identity and makes every away trip a significant journey for visiting teams.

Al-Okhdood's Prince Hathloul bin Abdulaziz Sports City provides a home in the southern highlands, where the club serve as the primary sporting institution for the Najran region.
